ChemSpec donates to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Seek a Miracle to help people with neuromuscular diseases and hope of a cure in the near future for Friedreich’s ataxia.

Two of the three daughters of Jim and Sandy Parrish have been diagnosed with the debilitating disease. Friedreich’s ataxia, an extremely rare progressive degenerative, life-shortening neurological disorder, can lead to diabetes and heart disease.

There is no cure for Friedreich’s ataxia, but doctors believe researchers are close and there are several clinical trials in progress that may help slow progression or may even reverse it.
